ROMANS 6:4
Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.
What is Baptism?
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead.
Baptism is also a church ordinance, which means it goes hand in hand with church membership. The reason for this is that baptism is not just symbolizing what Christ has done in your life; it is also a call for help, inviting other believers (the church) to come alongside you to invest in you and encourage you as you walk with Christ.
